Green Coffee Processing
General Information
Green coffee processing involves multiple stages designed to ensure high-quality, clean, and market-ready coffee beans. The process begins with cleaning, which removes fruit peel, dust, and other residues from the harvested beans, enhancing overall coffee quality.
Closed light grain separation uses sieves, aspiration, and height-based sorting to classify beans based on weight and size, ensuring uniformity. Drying adjusts the moisture content of the beans to optimal levels, preventing spoilage and preserving flavor and nutrients.
Polishing smooths the outer surface of the coffee beans while removing dust and impurities, helping the natural oils and aroma to stand out. Advanced color sorting systems, such as the Tanis Sorton Zeugma with dual Full HD cameras and AI algorithms, separate beans based on size, weight, shape, and color, removing defective or unwanted beans with precision while minimizing waste using targeted air ejectors.
Finally, packaging in 25×50 kg bags or big bags ensures safe storage and convenient sale. Every stage in green coffee processing, from harvesting to final packaging, relies on specialized machines and equipment to maintain quality, efficiency, and consistency.
